I do this because it helps become efficient with the shotgun and promotes weapon control in certain situations. I practice about 200 kills on tr_walkway the first time I start TF2 for the day.įor the Soldier and Demoman, I pop them up and airshot them.įor the Scout and Medic, I pop them up and finish them off with the shotgun. The first 3 steps are crucial for newer players learning the ways of the Soldier. These servers are the true test of a good Soldier.Įxcellent post I must say. They're proficient with their Rocket Jumps (another necessity), airshots, shotgun use, speed, mobility, you name it. MGE is a Deathmatch training mod, and the Soldiers here are absolutely incredible. Once you've got the basics of looking through the crosshair and following through your target down, switch back to the Rocket Launcher.ĥ) Practice on an MGE server!! I wouldn't try this until you're making most of your airshots. The Direct Hit is faster, more powerful, and much easier to learn timed shots with. That way, if you miss your first shot, you may have time for a second shot.Ĥ) Start with the Direct Hit. Don't stop moving when you take the shot, keep tracing the parabolic curve of the enemy. Remember that it takes time for your rocket to get from the barrel to the enemy. Make sense?ģ) Follow through with your target. Follow the target with your eye and make your hand follow, don't look at the crosshair. When you line up your shot, focus past your crosshair towards the target. Make your crosshair a simple circle (crosshair 0 in Options -> Multiplayer) to begin with. When you want to start connecting on your shots, you have to remember that maps are three-dimensional spaces. Chances are you're aiming WITH your crosshair, right? Stop it. Whenever I start the game, I'll just go ahead and load this map and put down a few hundred airshots before I actually walk into a pub or MGE server.Ģ) Aim properly.

#Ps for airshot how to
There are lots of tutorials on how to maximize the map's potential on YouTube.
#Ps for airshot download
Here's how I learned.ġ) Download tr_walkway_rc2. The benefits of being able to airshot are obvious - not only is the enemy rarely expecting it, but you know you have the aim to take down just about anything. But unless you practice it a LOT, you're not going to get very good at it.
